Cotfield House is a beautifully crafted residence nestled in the heart of Manawatu farmland, designed with a balance of modern sophistication and rural character. Designed by Gibbons Architects and Sydney-based architect Ian Poole, featuring Roofing Industries' Eurostyle® Spanlok® for a sleek, enduring finish that complements its rural setting.

Roofing Industries’ Eurostyle® Spanlok® 460 Pan profile, in the deep Ironsand colour, gives Cotfield House a bold, streamlined look that enhances its architectural lines. The Spanlok® profile provides not only a visually striking effect but also the durability needed for New Zealand’s diverse weather conditions. This choice of roofing and cladding profile complements the home’s overall design, blending seamlessly into the landscape while adding a refined, industrial edge.

The architectural design embraces a minimalist material palette that allows each element to shine. Timber rain screens on the exterior echo classic farm fencing and add warmth and texture, while finely detailed connections bring sophistication to the structure. Raised foundations and cantilevered floor slabs lend the home a ‘floating’ appearance, subtly setting it apart from the surrounding landscape.

Inside, the attention to detail continues with exposed timber trusses and steel tension rods, reflecting both strength and style. Negative detailing runs throughout the home, giving ceiling-to-wall junctions and skirting a clean, modern finish. These design touches create a cohesive flow, connecting the exterior and interior in a way that feels seamless and carefully considered.
