Note: The following statement only applies to Eurostyle, Multideck andTrapezoidal profiles. Oil canning is defined as a perceived waviness across the flat area of ( in particular, but not limited to) wider metal panels. It is a naturally-occurring phenomenon and can be more discernible under shallow cross lighting, variation in light source, temperature and thermal changes. Oil canning is an aesthetic issue and not a structural problem or defect. The property owner, builder, specifier should be aware that these undulations do not affect performance. Inclusion of swaging systems may also assist in reducing surface waviness.

    • ZAM - ZINC ALUMINIUM MAGNESIUM

      ZAM™ (ZINC- ALUMINIUM – MAGNESIUM) Roofing and Cladding substrate One of the most exiting developments for New Zealand roofing industry in recent years has been the launch of ZAM™ , a reasonably stable metal compound which is demonstrating excellent corrosion protection at the cut edge. The test sample image shows very little surface deterioration, even after 6 years exposure in an extreme salt environment situated at the Muriwai test facility. Particularly favoured for rainwater goods manufacture, but equally impressive for roofing and cladding manufacture, look for ZAM™ to make significant inroads into the roofing industry going forward. ZAM™ coil substrate can also be supplied with Colorcote MagnaFlow™ (ZM8™) and MagnaFlow™ X (ZMX™) paint coatings and available in an extensive colour range. Both unpainted and painted ZAM™ product is manufactured in all Roofing Industries roofing and cladding/walling profiles. When supplied unpainted, the shiny clean surface lends itself nicely to wall lining/cladding and is particularly attractive as Slimline® mini Corrugate
