This Auckland renovation featured the addition of a new bedroom and living area and an overall revamp of the existing home, seeing the home’s total footprint increase from 95m² to 170m². To bring the new and existing sections of the home together, the clients chose to reroof the entire home in Roofing Industries TrueOak™ Corrugate — a metal corrugated roof with a deeper, rounder profile that brings a distinct architectural look to buildings.

The original home had aged concrete tiles which didn’t quite fit with the contemporary aesthetic of the extension. A modern roofing solution was needed that would be compliant, low maintenance and suitable for the home’s location just 150m from the sea. TrueOak™ Corrugate fit the brief while giving the homeowners the striking architectural look they wanted.

Keeping the coastal location in mind, the TrueOak™ Corrugate profile was specified with Colorcote Magnaflow — a pre-painted steel substrate with magnesium added technology for superior corrosion resistance. This ensures low maintenance and a long lasting roof system for the homeowners.

Once the roofing was chosen, the design and consent process was straightforward with architects Assemble noting that all information was easy to find and use, helping ensure stress-free compliance. Installation was hassle-free, completed by roofers Relay Roofing.

The end result is a striking contemporary roof that unites new and old sections of the home, creating a cohesive modern look.
